About us

Designers at Mode are Kevin and Duncan, both graduates of Industrial Product Design at Coventry University. After 8 years in industry we founded Mode in late 2004 to create a product design consultancy that would lead to the emerging Mode brand.

After varied design work for new and existing contacts, we decided to concentrate our efforts on producing and launching the first of our own range of products in 2005.

As soon as the Winerack and Fridge Clock started to take shape we realised that we wanted to extend the brand and create a product range that involved the user, was tactile, aesthetic and which would fit well into any home.

Alun joined us in the summer of 2005 to take over the marketing and sales and has created some great new contacts and customers in the UK and abroad

We get very excited about seeing the brand develop and our choices and decisions are usually based on the stuff we like. It helps that the three of us have been best mates since school – age 11 – and we are also proud to be based back home in Cardiff.

After Fridge Clock won Gift of the Year 2006 (6 months after the launch of the first products) we knew that we were doing something right and wanted to expand the range as soon as possible. The Mode brand will develop as time goes on but the essence of our designs will be fun, cool and functional whether it is home accessories or furniture and lighting.
